An unidentified Native American woman tried to lead the massive crowd in a 'down, down USA' chant at the Million Man March during her speech

She also called for Obama to pardon Native American activist Leonard Peltier who was convicted of killing two FBI officers in 1975

Thousands gathered at the National Mall to celebrate the anniversary of the Million Man March and to call for changes in policing

Families of several unarmed African-American men and women killed in encounters with police encouraged crowd to continue to speak out

Attention has been focused on deaths of unarmed black men since shootings of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and 18-year-old Michael Brown

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan led an anniversary gathering on Saturday at the Capitol called the 'Justice or Else' march

He said if things don't change in the black community, participating in the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March is just 'vanity'

As thousands of African-Americans gathered at the National Mall to mark the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March, a female speaker led the massive crowd in a 'down, down USA' chant Saturday morning.

The unidentified Native American woman, who spoke briefly after Chief Ernie Longwalker of the Red Wind Nation, proclaimed that Muammar 'Gaddafi is still alive.'

At one point while speaking, the woman held up what appeared to be a Black Panther Party t-shirt.

Before attempting to lead the crowd in a chant of 'down, down USA,' the woman also called for President Barack Obama to pardon Leonard Peltier, a Native American activist who was convicted of murdering two Federal Bureau

of Investigation officers in 1975.

Twenty years after Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan led his first Million Man March on Washington he has commemorated the event, baptising it as the “Justice or Else” rally.

This time the crowd was counted in the thousands, and gathered to protest at the recent number of high-profile police killings of unarmed, mostly Afro-American men.

Farrakhan spoke for two hours, denouncing “white supremacy”, sexual immorality, abortion and violence.
