I will not be silenced anywhere, says Steve Hofmeyr
Controversial Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr is hogging headlines once again, after it emerged that a restaurant in the Netherlands has cancelled an appearance by him over his political opinions.
The singer was set to speak at a Dutch restaurant called Cafe Dudok about the future of Afrikaners in South Africa.
However, Johan de Villiers a member of the African-European Indaba, which is a group formed by a community of people from Africa living in Europe, alerted the restaurant to Steve's alleged racist comments in the past.
Is Steve Hofmeyr really as racist as he seems?
Taking to Facebook, De Villiers sent the restaurant an open message calling it out for inviting the singer to the venue.
"Why does Cafe Dudok welcome South African singer, Steve Hofmeyr in their venue? Do you know he called a well-known white supremacist in South Africa a "cultural icon" and that he blamed Apartheid on South African black people?
Did you know that he shared another podium with another white supremacist in 2015? Did you know he was banned from many venues and that sponsors walked away from him," read the post.
