    Fascist propaganda purge

Page not found | Costa News

The Socialist PSOE party in Almería has promised to remove all fascist signs and symbols from streets and buildings in Almería city as part of its election manifesto.

The announcement came just days after Madrid human rights lawyer Eduardo Ranz lodged court proceedings against 15 catholic bishops, including the bishop of Almería, for alleged failure to remove fascist symbols from church buildings contrary to Spain's 2007 Law of Historic Memory – proceedings dubbed "insignificant" by a spokesperson for the diocese of Almería.

PSOE candidate number two Carmen Nuñez described the law as "an ethical and moral promise on the part of public authorities" to publicly recognize victims of the Spanish Civil War and Franco's fascist regime, who "risked their lives in defence of liberty and democracy".
