  • 'US politicians ignore illegal NSA data mining'

An American political analyst says Washington is focusing on the arrest of National Security Agency’s whistleblower Edward Snowden to divert public opinions over “the illegal activities of the NSA”.

Linh Dinh said American politicians both Republicans and Democrats ignore crimes committed by the U.S. government and focus on the arrest of Snowden with the assistance of U.S. media.

The U.S. is “shamelessly ignoring its own crimes and focusing on the whistleblower”, he said in a phone interview with Press TV’s U.S. Desk on Saturday.

“Snowden is not a criminal, but a hero even Americans consider [him]”, he added.

Snowden leaked top secret information about the U.S. government’s surveillance programs. He revealed that the U.S. spy agencies collect massive amounts of data on people’s communications via telephone and the Internet.

His charges include “espionage” and “theft of government property”, “unauthorized communication of national defense information”, and “willful communication of classified communications intelligence information to an unauthorized person”.

President Barack Obama said Washington is sparing no expense to bring Snowden to the U.S. to face charges.

The NSA leaker is believed to be holed up in a Moscow airport's transit zone and seeking safe passage to Ecuador.

“At this moment, the solution of Snowden's destination is in the hands of Russian authorities”, Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa said.

Government is a DISEASE - FREEDOM is the CURE
Integrity is doing the right thing when no one else is watching.
“Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth — more than ruin, more even than death. Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habits; thought is anarchic and lawless, indifferent to authority, careless of the well-tried wisdom of the ages. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid … Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man.”Bertrand Russell, Why Men Fight
