(a paraphrased and very weak skim of the speech, but that video just blows so many doors on so many levels that I just have to respond)
The familiar Late Night Feeling....
it was/is 'all for nothing.'
The change he later saw that others could not (envisioned)
was a weakness in the effort.
He actually stood up and took responsibility for the direction, admitted he was wrong.
And within that decision changed the course of time for every single one of us.
He so tenderly speaks of despair,
we know he has been there and it breaks through
so many layers obstruction.
And then people came I could be proud of, people in whom I could have confidence...
That is when the Late Night Despair disappeared.
This is as spiritual a moment as it gets for me.
